Ready or not…deer season is almost here. We’re just days away from the October 1 Illinois bow opener, and after a brutally hot September in Southern Illinois, cooler weather is finally on the way. That means velvet is off, bucks are changing patterns, acorns are dropping—and everything we thought we knew about our target bucks all summer may be about to change. In Episode 15, Clark, Jamie and Jaden sit down for the final OSNG podcast before the 2026 deer season begins. Then things get interesting. Because the next time we sit down behind these microphones, the predictions are over. It’ll be hunting season.

Who misses first? And which one of us is WAY more confident than he has any business being? We break out the OSNG Confidence Meter, diagnose our Deer Season Red Flags, and make our official preseason predictions and bets.

Buck Fever Is Back! The OSNG boys are counting down the days until Illinois' bow season opener October 1st! The bucks have grown to the point where every time they get a cell cam notification they grab their phones (and the wives HATE it!) to see if it's a Hit Lister, a new buck that's moved in, or just the summer crops swaying in the wind. The guys do some pre-season trash talking, debate about naming some of the new Hit Listers for this season (and ask for your help on a couple) and make some pretty bold predictions. In Episode 9 the guys take a look at Aggressive and Conservative tactics in the stand, in scouting, and in stand placement. Take a guess who falls on what side of the argument? Then the boys take a lightning round where "Depends" isn't an answer. You can only choose one way. Until Clark changes the rules for himself. Finally Jaden goes completely off the rails with "What Would Leroy Say?" But, that's "Draden" for you!

In Episode 8 the boys talk about the bucks that got away that still keep them up at night, including a 210"+ monster named "Stickers".   They also have some fun talking about the dumbest things they ever did while hunting.   Thanks for listening to OSNG!
